Define
The lines between work, social and personal life coming blurred as more people are working from home. The side-effect of this phenomenon is having less time to care for things in day-to-day lives, in this instance – plants. The use of an app could take that pressure away from people and be automated by notifications and further education.
Design Process
User interviews were conducted to identify any pain points plant owners are currently facing – the analysis showed that many new plant owners were unaware of the care that each plant required leading to multiple plant failures. Competitor research also revealed gaps within the market where Plantify could address and place itself in a prime position.
Outcome
MVP included a search feature and plant education to assist new plant owners – timed notifications allowed reminders of watering and fertilising cycles, thus easing the learning curve for new plants. Further iterations will include troubleshooting and camera identification.
